About the Author . . . 

Derek Keilty is the author of more than fourteen books for children, one of which – from his Will Gallows series – was selected for the Richard and Judy Kids’ Book Club and shortlisted for the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year. His books have been translated into many different languages and Flyntlock Bones was nominated for the Fantastic Book Awards and long-listed for the Spark! School Book Awards. His latest series is Ivy Newt in Miracula – the fourth title comes out September 2024. Derek was born in Belfast where he still lives with his wife, Elaine, and twin daughters. Derek divides his time between writing and leading storytelling and creative writing workshops to schools and libraries.
