Join us at the McNally Jackson Seaport, manhattan’s own coastal refuge, as we present an evening featuring a range of brilliant minds from NYC's poetry scene.
The title for this new monthly series comes from Herman Melville’s poem “Art”. Poetry, wine, and the sea have always been inextricably intertwined. This reading series seeks to highlight poets from all over the city, and give them a backdrop of McNally Jackson’s Seaport location to read their new work. Join us to hear poems, drink wine, and enjoy the “pulsed life”.

Eugene Ostashevsky is a poet and translator whose writing has been described as “translingual” because of its focus on multilingualism and linguistic interference. The Feeling Sonnets (Carcanet, NYRB Poets, 2022) examines the effect of speaking a nonnative language on emotions, parenting, and identity. The Pirate Who Does Not Know the Value of Pi (NYRB Poets, 2017), discusses communication difficulties between pirates and parrots. As a translator, Ostashevsky is best known for his editions of the Russian avant-garde, such as OBERIU: An Anthology of Russian Absurdism (Northwestern UP, 2006). His recent translations include Lucky Breaks by the Ukrainian fiction writer Yevgenia Belorusets (New Directions, 2022). His work has appeared in Best American Poetry and The Forward Book of Poetry, and won the National Translation Award, the City of Münster International Poetry Prize, the Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD fellowship, and others.
Inna Krasnoper is a Berlin-based poet and dance artist. Her English-language poetry has appeared in her chapbooks Over Sight (Eulalia Books) and Sealed (Black Sunflowers Poetry Press), as well as in Annulet, Vestiges, Gulf Coast, 128 LIT, and elsewhere. Krasnoper's full-length English-language poetry collection dis tanz was published by Veliz Books in 2025.
Mohammed Zenia Siddiq Yusef Ibrahim’s poems have appeared in E-flux Magazine, the Poetry Project Newsletter, Apogee Journal, and Mizna. They are the author of the books Tel Aviv, Black Bedouin (with Tenaya Nasser), and most recently, BLK WTTGNSN.
Callie Hitchcock is a writer, journalist, and graduate of the NYU journalism Master’s degree for Cultural Reporting and Criticism. She has published writing in The Believer, The New Republic, The Nation, Los Angeles Review of Books, Slate, and elsewhere. She is the producer and host of the podcast Nonfiction with Callie Hitchcock where she interviews nonfiction authors, writers, and journalists. She lives in Brooklyn.
Stine An is a poet, translator, and performer based in New York City. Her work has appeared in Poem-a-Day, Best American Experimental Writing 2018, Best Literary Translations 2024, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University and is the recipient of fellowships and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Poetry Project, and ALTA. Her translations include Today’s Morning Vocabulary by Yoo Heekyung (Zephyr Press, 2025) and Comet and Star: A Story of Cosmic Friendship, written by the musician and composer Lee Juck and illustrated by Lee Jinhee (Enchanted Lion Books, 2024). Her debut poetry collection, B-Dragon Suite, is a winner of the Nightboat Poetry Prize.
