Join us at McNally Jackson Seaport for a blockbuster Volunteer Fair!

The 2024 election affects everyone, on every scale. We know it can be hard to figure out how we as individuals can make concrete, positive change, so we invited a host of incredible organizations already working to make a better New York, and a better United States. The fair is a place to find volunteer opportunities, donate to pressing causes, and engage with friends and neighbors in impactful, lasting ways. If you've ever felt stalled, unsure of how to get more involved in the political system, this is how to start.

This event is part of our larger Engaged Electorate series, where we host journalists and writers to help break down the events of the week, and invite local and national organizations to offer concrete opportunities for you to get involved with the most pressing issues of our time. We're excited not only to talk about what needs doing, but to put a spotlight on the good that's already being done. In a media environment that profits from dread and outrage, we hope to offer spaces of defiant optimism and clear-eyed opportunities to help our neighbors and communities.

More organizations to be announced! RSVP is not required for this event.

The New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) supports New Yorkers and people traveling to New York State to access abortion care through financial assistance, case management, and connections to other resources. NYAAF believes funding abortion is an act of radical community care and supports 100% of callers, regardless of income, age, or citizenship status.

The League of Women Voters of the City of New York is a non-partisan organization whose purpose is to promote informed and active participation in government. Our mission is to expand our outreach and increase all New Yorkers’ participation in local communities and government through civic engagement, voting and issue advocacy.

Yes on Prop 1: vote yes on Proposal 1 to protect our fundamental rights and reproductive freedom. All New Yorkers deserve the freedom to control our own lives, futures, and healthcare decisions — including our right to abortion. Prop 1 is a constitutional amendment putting power in the hands of New Yorkers, not politicians.

Think!Chinatown (T!C) is a place-based intergenerational non-profit in Manhattan’s Chinatown, working at the intersection of storytelling, arts, and neighborhood engagement. T!C is the team behind neighborhood cultural programs like Chinatown Arts Festival, Chinatown Night Market, Chinatown Block Parties, Chinatown Storytelling Festival, Chinatown!Studio and more.

Founded in 1998 by labor unions, the New York Working Families Party is leading the fight for social, racial, and economic justice in NY state. By pushing for progressive legislation and by also training, recruiting and supporting progressive leaders to run for office, we form a unique bridge between progressive activism and electoral success. We’re a multi-racial, working class political party fighting for a New York for the many, not the few.

The Asian American Federation (AAF) is a leadership organization advocating for the well-being of New York’s pan-Asian community in collaboration with over 70 member and partner community-based organizations. AAF leads this work through policy advocacy, research, and programming in topic areas, like mental health, community safety, nonprofit support, and economic empowerment.

Eleanor’s Legacy recruits, trains, and supports pro-choice Democratic women to run for state and local office throughout New York. We’ve worked to build a robust bench by teaching first-time candidates the ropes and filling in the gaps for all our endorsed candidates through training, funding, endorsing and providing pro-bono campaign services.

National Coalition Against Censorship and Sheryl Oring present "I Wish To Say." This project transforms public spaces into impromptu offices where Oring, dressed as a 1960s secretary, types verbatim the thoughts of passersby. New Yorkers can dictate messages to the next president, watching as their words materialize on postcards through the keys of a vintage typewriter. "I Wish To Say" allows anyone to voice their hopes, fears, and expectations for the nation's future.

God’s Love We Deliver provides nutrition therapy, and cooks and home delivers medically tailored meals for people living with severe illness in the New York City metropolitan area. We are a non-sectarian organization. All of our services are provided free to clients and full of love.
